Puglia received 31% more passengers through the airports of Bari and Brindisi.

La Gazetta del Mezzogiorno of 17 February last wrote that in January 2010, 272.572 passengers arrived and left at the airports in Bari and Brindisi, an increase of 31% compared to January 2009, when the total number of passengers was 207.365.

The increase in the number of passengers will continue mainly because of the recently started flights of Ryanair to Bari and Brindisi, and the improved connection flight schedules from and to Bari and Brindisi on flights from the main international airports in Italy.
 

Recently Ryanair started also direct  flights as well from Eindhoven ( Netherlands ) as from Charleroi (Belgium ) to Brindisi.

In 2009 a total of 2.801.154 passengers travelled through the airports in Puglia, also an increase of 13% from 2008.

The strong growth in the number of passengers has a positive impact on tourism and the demand for second homes and holiday homes in Puglia is increasing evidently.
